Saint Patrick and Saint Hedwig are two parishes with two historic churches -- the former founded by Irish immigrants in 1858, the latter founded by Polish immigrants in 1877. Both are located in the National West Washington Historic District of South Bend, Indiana.
Since July 1, 2001, in fidelity to Jesus Christ, they seek now to bring the gifts of these two traditions together as one in the Roman Catholic Rite -- to proclaim the Gospel, to celebrate Eucharist to strengthen our resolve, and to seek to live the Gospel message enriching our lives and the lives of others, in our families, neighborhoods, and workplaces in Michiana.
